Tonight’s Raido Jamba International broadcast features some interesting selections from Agon’s fine site, as well as some other unique music and commentary. Our programming block was a little jumbled up today because of technical difficulties at the station, but we were indeed eventually able to get on the air. Hope you enjoyed the mix.

Phin did a good thing and share with us the most excellent KPFA Subgenius Show – Best of the 80s Volume 3, which we played on Area 51 this evening. In response to the positive reaction at hearing this deep, highly mixed collage, we are posting it here for your enjoyment. It’s a really great mix and worth giving your ears a treat.

Some delightful airchecks of “Bob”‘s Slacktime Funhouse, the Rev. Susie The Floozy‘s show on WREK Atlanta, have made it into our slack folder recently. A couple of these are upgrades provided to us by the Flooz herself, and others were snarfed from the Usenet newsgroup alt.binaries.multimadia.slack. Since most of you are probably not usenet addicts like we are here in studio number 9, we’re going to share these shows with you here.

This week, Doktor Vitriol posted some incredible audio bits to alt.binaries.multimedia.slack under the collective title Welcome To Mars. These audio bits mix up space music with radio commercials from the 1940s and 1950s. This audio fits in well with the Area 51 theme, so chances are you’ll hear them from time to time on our radio show.

We had an outpouring of interest last night on the Lumpy Gravy Radio Show on Area 51 when we played a catchy little ditty called God Will Fuck You Up, attributed to a group called I Shit You Not. We found this amazing track on April Winchell‘s wonderful audio page, which we highly recommend.
The Bowling League recommended to Brother Scare to use this as a theme song, replacing all that awful, scary music he plays on his broadcasts.

Lest we so quickly forget the Bush years, Susie the Floozy presents a masterful retrospective overview of eight years with President Bush at the helm. This was ripped from the webcast of WREK 91.1 Atlanta in the wee hours of the morning on January 25, 2009.

I’ve been slipping beer commercials into the Lumpy Gravy Radio Show for some time now. Here’s a few of my found commercials: six for Pabst Blue Ribbon, two for Schlitz, and one each for Ballantine and Schaefer. The latter two came from some classic Jean Shepherd shows from the 1960s; the others are from classic radio shows from the 1950s and 1960s.

Last Sunday morning, our friend Susie the Floozie presented the first of a two part feature on “Bob”‘s Slacktime Funhouse on WREK featuring an interview with Bettie Page, the icon of pin-up art that passed away last week at the age of 85. We were pleased to share this classic interview with you on Area 51 earlier this week on WBCQ, and we’re posting the aircheck, ripped from the WREK webcast, here for you.
