WBCQ 5110 Transmitter Down

The main transmitter for WBCQ 5.110 MHz suffered a failure in one of its high power output tubes on Saturday, January 23. As a result we were on-air from 2330 to 0400 using our backup BC-610 transmitter, with a full AM signal at about 300 watts into a Timtronium dipole strung between our two wind turbine towers. Reception was widely reported in Indiana, Ohio, Massachusetts, Maryland, and other locations in the midwest and eastern US. If repairs can’t be completed by Sunday evening, we will be on the BC-610 again starting at 2300 UTC Sunday.
